Info Adriatic: it is enough hearing other people's stories about summer vacations, it is time to tell your stories to others
However, these are not going to be just stories, but your true experiences that you can experience in one of 30 destinations of Sibenik-Knin County for favourable prices. Where's a catch? There isn't any. On the site Info Adriatic (where you are currently) you can find the destination and accommodation suitable for your wishes and possibilities. After you look at the photos and read the descriptions of rooms, apartments, villas, hotels, there follows a direct contact with the buildings' owners - through mail or phone - without agency provisions. However, do not hesitate too much, because these days Info Adriatic has been visited up to a thousand visitors a day.
Neno Vlahovic from Zagreb has entered the marina of Sibenik's hotel complex Solaris, after three years of cruising around the world
After 27 thousand sea miles and almost three years of cruise around the world, graduate mechanical engineer Nenad Vlahovic from Zagreb has entered the marina of Sibenik's hotel complex Solaris on his boat Jamnica. Vlahovic put to sea on the boat he had made himself on the 28th October 2001 and since then a total of 28 crew members sailed with him on many routes. From now Nenad Vlahovic belongs to a three member club of special seafarers in which there are three Croats, our contemporaries that sail the world: Joza Horvat, Mladen Sutej and Nenad Vlahovic.
Sibenik mayor Neda Klaric organized the reception for the guests of the 44th International Children Festival
Sibenik mayor Neda Klaric has organized the traditional reception in the town hall for the members and representatives of foreign theatre companies that participate on the 44th International Children festival in Sibenik. She wished the pleasant stay and successful participation on the manifestation to the guests from Romania, Slovakia, FYR Macedonia and Poland.
Stamp and coin collecting society Sibenik opened the fourth national youth exhibition
The exhibition has been opened in Sibenik's town museum where 32 boards of 22 youth exhibitors. It has been introduced into the European event calendar and it will be ranked by the judges of Croatian stamp collecting society. Along with the exhibitors from Croatia there are youth from Slovenia and Vojvodina. It is worth mentioning the board done by Stasa Bracic from Slovenia, titled Cycling, which has been awarded on international exhibitions several times.
More than 13 thousand guests spend the vacation in Sibenik-Knin County
Already three weeks in a row on the area of Sibenik-Knin County there has been fewer guests than the last year's period. However, certain positive progress has been noted. After the last week's worrying minus of 34 percent, that number has fallen down to 13 percent, which is the same level in all Croatia. Last week there were 13.172 guests, of whom 11.136 foreigners or 11 percent less than the last year, while there are 24 percent less native guests.
The International Children Festival from the 19th June to the 3rd July
On the summer stage in front of Saint Jacob's Cathedral and town hall in Sibenik, as well as on town squares, from the 19th June until the 3rd July there will be held the 44th International Children Festival, which will also gather a great number of children from all over the world this year. This year's opening ceremony will be run under the direction of Mate Gulin. The script for the play "Ptica cudesnih krila" was written by Marina Andelkovic, while the music was created by Toni Eterovic. The main actors are children from Sibenik's choir "Zdravo maleni" under the baton of Mira Grujic. Traditional fireworks in Sibenik's port will be held after the inauguration.
60 boaters' ships daily sail in the ACI marina in Skradin
Skradin's marina ACI, due to its natural surroundings, is known as one of the most beautiful and most visited boating ports. Its capacity is around 150 berths, so many ships have to stay at anchorage, especially on Sunday. Although the main season is not yet, more than 60 boats daily sail in Skradin. On one of such yachts, there was recently the Dutch prince Bernard, who inspite his 93 years, still cruises in the Adriatic. Many world famous people stay in Skradin's marina incognito, and of those who come here often is Bill Gates, Microsoft's first man.
900 youths arrive in a spiritual camp in Modrave near Sibenik
This year's spiritual and recreation summer youth camp in Modrave near Sibenik will start on the 20th June until the 5th September. This initiative was created by priest Luka Rada last year and realized by Student Catholic centre Palma from Zagreb under the sponsorship of Sibenik's diocese and in cooperation with the Croatian Bishops' Conference's Youth office. 900 youths from all over Croatia and abroad will participate in the camp.
Super Konzum in Razine opened a shop on 1900 square metres
In a big shopping centre Dalmare, in the propriety of Zagrebmontaza, in Razine near Sibenik, the Super Konzum's shop was inaugurated. It is a biggest shop of Konzum in Sibenik, which takes 1900 square metres of space, with 16 thousand products on shelves and it employs 65 workers. Konzum has invested around seven millions HRK in the equipping of the centre and there are 500 parking spaces at the customers' disposal with a direct entrance from the Adriatic Highway. The working hours are from 7 to 22 hours, on Sunday from 8 to 13 hours.
The only county's weekly 'Sibenski list' sold to 'Dubrovacki vjesnik'
The town government of Sibenik-Knin County, this time as the assembly of "Sibenski list", has evaluated that the best offer on taking over the county's only weekly is given by "Dubrovacki vjesnik". In its offer, "Dubrovacki vjesnik" has committed to meet all debts of Sibenski list, which surpass a million and two hundred thousand HRK and take all the employees. The details on taking over the weekly will be précised in a contract of the buyer and seller.
Blue flags began to flutter in the ACI marinas in Jezera and Vodice, as well as in marina Frapa in Rogoznica
Among nineties marinas and beaches, this year's Blue flag's holders, there are also ACI marinas in Jezera and Vodice, together with marina Frapa in Rogoznica. In Vodice's marina the flag began to flutter for the sixth time, marina in Jezera put the flag on its mast for the fifth time, while Rogoznica's marina did the same thing for the fourth time in a row. The Blue flag is an international acknowledgment that is given only to those clean, secure and well maintained beaches and marinas.
Scientific conference dedicated to the 500th birth anniversary of great Sibenik's native Antun Vrancic
Town Sibenik, town library Juraj Sizgoric, town museum and Sibenik theatre together organized the scientific conference dedicated to the 500th birth anniversary of church prelate, diplomat, writer - Sibenik's Antun Vrancic. The conference held on the 11th and 12th June is of international character and the general sponsor is Croatian Academy of science and art. On this conference, the scientists will present their studies on Antun Vrancic, and a book called "Tri spisa Antuna Vrancica" (Three papers of Antun Vrancic) will be presented.
With Ivana Banfic's triumph Croatian Radio Festival came to an end
The Grand Prix of the eighth Croatian Radio Festival, held in hotel complex Solaris near Sibenik, went into the hands of Ivana Banfic for the song "Otisak prsta" (A fingerprint). Ivana won thanks to the sum of votes given by radio listeners and music editors of Croatian radio stations. The final evening on the big scene in Solaris was watched by around 4000 people.
Less than a year after its beginning, marina Tribunj has put Blue Flag
Although the year since it began functioning, marina in Tribunj got its Plava Zastava (Blue Flag), an eco-mark that guarantees the completion of all high securing and ecological criteria. This year, five marinas in Sibenik-Knin County got Plava Zastava, but marina Tribunj was the first one to put it out, while the others will do the same these days.
Private accommodation registers a thousand guests more than the last week
The private accommodation has realized a thousand guests more than the last week and now in these capacities are 1354 guests, 11 of which are native. After private accommodation there come marines in which there are 1237 tourists, which is 250 visitors less than the last week. There are 798 guests in camps. Different from the last week when the first position was held by Sibenik, now the first position belongs to Vodice where 1742 guests are placed, 1698 of which are foreigners. With 1575 tourists, Sibenik has held the same level of visits.
Sibenik's mountaineers have got the first professional guides for mountain and hill area
Six mountaineers of Croatian mountaineering club Sveti Mihovil have become the apprentice guides for mountain and hill area. These are the first professional guides for this area in Sibenik-Knin County, which yet enforces another part of local tourist offer. In the last few years, the tourists' interest has grown for the excursions for hill and mountain areas, which are rich of beautiful and untouched natural beauties in the area of Sibenik.
The Swiss gave a sculpture of dolphin to friends in Zaton
Two Swiss, who have been spending their summer vacations for 24 years in Zaton, near Sibenik, academic sculptor Georges Andre Favre and Roger Stoller from small cantonal town La Loclea, have gifted their friends from Zaton on a very unusual way. On Roger's idea, Georges has made a beautiful dolphin sculpture from an oak trunk, which has been put as a symbol of friendship in arranged park, near Zaton's quay.
Sibenik's singing choir 'Kolo', the only representative of Croatia on the tour in Poland
Under the patronage of Ministry of culture and the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Warsaw, the members of Sibenik's singing choir "Kolo" have gone on concert tour in Poland. As a part of the Fifth International Festival of choir music in Lublin, they will present the rich musical heritage of Croatia on their guest performances. On that manifestation there will be 12 choirs, four of which from abroad, while "Kolo" is the only representative of Croatia. In the organization of Croatian embassy the choir will perform two full-evening concerts.
