  • that 'Morinjski zaljev', limited by Sibenik's Donje Polje and Jadrtovac, is very abundant with layers of healing pollen silt, of the best quality in Croatia

Less than 300 thousand square meters of one nautical mile long Morinjski zaljev (Morinj Bay), there are layers of five millions cubic metres of pollen silt. On the average, they are seven meters, but on certain places even twelve metres high. The Board for health tourism and natural medicine at the Academy of medical science of Croatia has issued a certificate that confirms from the highest health level the possibility to use this silt for medical purposes. By diluting it with a proper water quantity, heating and satisfying health and sanitary rules, pollen can be used for treatment of cardiovascular system, neurological, rheumatic and skin diseases and disorders, as well as the disorders of metabolism, system, kidneys, digestive, urinary and respiration systems. Inspite of high levelled and scientifically established potential, so far there hasn't been constructed any building of scientific and tourist contents, but many visitors come here individually to have a bath or put on themselves this healing silt.

Of all travertine forms on Roski Slap there are caves, furrows, thresholds, small barriers and cones. The cones appear on the foot of the main cascade and represent the specific quality of Roski slap. During these days the Yugoslav aggressor destructed many town's historical and cultural buildings with missiles, among which even the cupola of Saint James's Cathedral. The brave defenders of Sibenik resisted the aggressors' attacks thanks to the excellent artillerists from Zecevo, Jelinjak, Dubrava, Razor, Smricnjak, Zirje and other points. The enemy had more dead people and enormous loss in techniques. The defenders had three killed soldiers, 113 wounded (of whom 64 civilians) and seven killed civilians.
