If you proceed from Sibenik through Zaton to Prokljan lake, in the end of your short trip you will arrive to Raslina. This little but pretty place is situated on the western shore of the Prokljan lake.
You can reach Raslina by boat as many yachtsmen do on their way to Skradin marina.
Raslina is first mentioned in 1298 when Sibenik Diocese was founded. In 1457 a little church of St.Michael was built. In the waters of the Prokljan lake, not far from Raslina, some rests of ancient architecture can be found on the islet of St.Stephen, the remnants of St.Stephen's church first mentioned in 1322. At the beginning of the 16th ct., for the defense from the Turks, a fort with strong walls and towers were built but unfortunately, there are no visible traces of it today. During the World War II, Raslina was completely destroyed.
Its inhabitants occupy themselves mainly with agriculture and fishing and recently with tourism, too. The guests are accomodated in private rooms, apartments
and few inns will offer local specialities among which the best known are fresh fish and local wine. Cordiality of its inhabitants, nice beaches and National park of the river Krka in the vicinity, make this little place very attractive for the tourists.
